Social Business is NEXT

How to make the poor , rich.?
When thinking how to bring the marginalised groups to the mainstream and include them in the socio economic development of India , I stumbled upon Social Business. This really suits us.A much better and uplifting way of giving than regular charity and CSR programmes. I read this article on the work  being done by Nobel Laureate Prof Muhamed Yunus to eradicate unemployment and poverty.Follow the Annual Global Social Business Summit and the amazing social business initiatives that promises to send poverty to the museums.

Marginality

Slum Children

The Disabled and the Differently abled
Marginality is “. . . being outside the mainstream of productive activity and/or social reproductive activity”.

The term ‘marginalization’ describes the overt actions or tendencies of human societies, where people who they perceive to be undesirable or without useful function, are excluded, i.e., marginalized.  This limits their opportunities and means for survival.
The Cotton Farmers

Muslim Women

The Dalits

Street Children

Village Women

Slum Dwellers

Sexual Minorities

Tribals

People who are marginalized have relatively little control over their lives, and the resources available to them. This results in making them handicapped in delving contribution to society.

As the objective of development is to create an enabling environment for people to enjoy a productive, healthy, and creative life, it is important to address the issue of marginalization.

Development is always broadly conceived in terms of mass participation. Marginalization deprives a large majority of people across the globe from participating in the development.

The Legend Kalam And Smile India 2020
Shifting school into Modern International Learning Environment.
103 years old ,we were one of the pioneering schools, now lets be the pioneers of change.Lets redefine Education.
APJ Kalam, He is still very much with us and will always continue to inspire us.What a man!!.."Age couldn’t catch up with him, death had to sneak up and grab him from the workplace. Because this son of a boatman wouldn’t be caught resting, even after climbing the highest position a man can hold in our country.
He honoured every chair he held, and India honoured him with the best it could. Dr Kalam meditated, played the veena, taught children and adults, tended to plants and found enough time to write relentlessly to author some 20 books. He parted his hair in the middle, wore really simple clothes, but the child-like smile beat all the weapons he developed as a scientist. "He wanted the same smile on every child born in India.
Yesterday ,on his birthday , we Himayathians took a big leap to realise this dream of his..The first academic meeting of the Smile India 2020 programme was held at our Zoology lab yestreday. This is inspired by Kalams Vision 2020, and proffered by our beloved Minister for Panchayath and Social Justice,Mr.M.K Muneer. The idea is to make our school a center of excellence, a place where every child can enjoy learning. The Project Director,Mr .P.K.Noushad encouraged all the teachers to share their ideas for a dream school. And what amazing dreams each teacher came out with...we are indeed blessed to have such a dedicated ideology driven team.!!!An Indoor stadium,Maths Lab,language labs, Fitness Centre,Smart classes and smart teachers, beautification of campus, buying land, new bulidings, Air conditioned classrooms, organic farming, karate for girls...list goes on. Goingby this quote,
If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.
half the job is done.We have already dared to dream for a remarakable future. We have taken the first step towards redefining eduacation. How lucky we are that we are one of the two schools selected from Calicut for this Project. Thanks to Almighty.

Irfan Alam # Cyclerickshaws in India# Sammaan Foundation# Youth Icon of India

Irfaan Alam organised the rickshaw sector in India and made it a profitable venture. He redsigned the rickshaws so that spaces on the vehicles could be sold for purposes of advertising and brand promotion

He also indicated that additional revenues could be made by selling products like water , juice , biscuits , mobile cards and newspapers to the passengers.
He provided insurance,ID cards and uniforms to the rickshaw pullers.Sammaan was founded in 2007.It gave the rickshaw pullers a sense of belonging and empowerment. It brought dignity and inclusion to those who were previously considered as menial labourers.
An entrepreneur is one who identifies an opportunity and puts in concious efforts to make it an enterprise.People generally discourage youth from treading this path. But it is time to think about entrepreneurship as a career, as it can be an important tool to tackle unemployment in the country.
At the Entrepreneurship Summit held at Washington DC in 2010, President Obama complimented Irfan Alam with the words,"you are doing a tougher job than me"

Many young people are into social enterprises which demand a lot of commitment and hardwork. They reach out to the community in their own way and try to make a difference. For them success means happiness for themselves and for others.

For Himayathians

I sit with an aching body and a hyper active mind.Have called in sick and requested HPL on med grounds for one week.Missing the noisy riot of Class 15..badly.No matter how much I crib about these mutinous mischief makers, they are indeed what gives me reason , when the question erupts in my ever confused mind Why this? Why Them? What next? Whats the bloody point?.

And then ofcourse I was leafing through the Reader and finds this task for the teacher." with the help of your teacher create a class blog and upload your thoughts about this poem." Since I would like to have a first hand experience of what I blabber in class I decide to blog.I get a hang of blogging and then I introduce blogging to my students.Actually they might be expert bloggers already.Anyway...Here it is.Let me see how this goes.

Class blog for Himayathians.A place to share your ideas, experiences and thoughts,For better reading of the Reader and better student teacher communication using the media preffered by the New Gen.And maybe more A+ in English.Ha Ha.
